Nominations have opened for the 2026 Checkatrade Awards 2026, which recognise tradespeople across the UK who are delivering high standards of workmanship, customer service and industry impact.

The awards are open to members of Checkatrade, all of whom undergo up to 12 checks and maintain customer reviews as part of their membership.

Now in its third year, the programme highlights tradespeople who go beyond standard requirements, including those contributing to community projects, supporting skills development and adopting new tools and technologies across the sector.

The 2026 programme will feature five regional events across the UK, with category winners progressing to a national final at Landing Forty-Two in the Cheesegrater building on 20 November 2026.

The format is designed to broaden recognition for tradespeople across different regions and specialisms, reflecting activity across residential construction, maintenance and repair sectors.

Awards recognise trades, innovation and industry impact

Jambu Palaniappan, CEO of Checkatrade, said: “Tradespeople are the backbone of the UK, and it’s time they get the recognition they’ve earned. Across the country, we’re seeing trades raising standards, building strong businesses, and adopting new tools and technology to stay ahead.

These awards are about celebrating that hard work and giving tradespeople the credit they deserve, not just from customers, but from the industry as a whole. If you take pride in your work, or know someone who does, this is your chance to put it forward.”

The awards are split into two categories: customer-nominated trade awards and industry and impact awards.

Trade categories include Builder, Electrician, Roofer, Carpenter, Plasterer, Landscaper, Painter & Decorator, and Plumber.

Industry-focused awards include Rising Star, Community Hero, Sustainability Champion, TradeMore Award for Technology & AI Champion, Women in Trade Champion, and Tradesperson of the Year.

Industry recognition builds on previous winners

Last year’s ceremony, held at Wembley Stadium, brought together hundreds of tradespeople from across the UK and was supported by industry sponsors and government representatives.

Dean Staniland of Pro Property Ltd in Sheffield was named both Plumber of the Year and overall Tradesperson of the Year, recognised for his standards of work, reliability and customer service.
