Brewers Decorator Centres is set to join the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) as an affiliate member from 1 February 2026, strengthening representation within the trade body’s Painting, Decorating and Building Chemicals category.

The move brings the UK’s largest independent decorators’ merchant into the BMF at a time when skills, sustainability and product standards remain key issues across the construction supply chain.

Expanding representation within the merchants sector

Founded in Sussex in 1904, Brewers operates a national network of 267 stores supplying paints, wallcoverings and associated decorating products to professional decorators and contractors.

Alongside its merchant operations, the company runs a Decorators Academy, delivering CITB-accredited training courses designed to support skills development across a range of decorating products and techniques.

Focus on skills, sustainability and sector engagement

Brewers’ membership will see it participate in the BMF’s Painting, Decorating and Building Chemicals Forum, which brings together merchants, manufacturers and suppliers operating within the finishing and coatings segment of the construction industry.

BMF welcomes affiliate member

The BMF said the appointment would contribute to wider collaboration across the sector, particularly around sustainability and best practice.
