Boniplas has appointed Paul Midgley as chief operating officer, strengthening its senior leadership team as the manufacturer continues to scale its operations.

Midgley brings more than 20 years of senior operational leadership experience across manufacturing, logistics, e-commerce fulfilment, field service and multi-site operations. His background spans both large corporates and high-growth SMEs.

In his new role, Midgley will oversee manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, quality, compliance and systems, working alongside the managing director and wider leadership team to support the delivery of the company’s business growth strategy.

Operational leadership across manufacturing and logistics

Midgley has previously held senior positions including general manager, regional operations director and divisional operations leader, with responsibility for P&L performance, EBITDA delivery, systems implementation and multi-disciplinary team leadership.

His experience includes leading operational improvement programmes focused on productivity, service performance and profitability, as well as the turnaround of underperforming operations.

Throughout his career, Midgley has delivered initiatives covering ERP implementation, lean manufacturing, supply chain optimisation and logistics network design, operating within both regulated environments and fast-moving commercial markets. He has also worked extensively with owner-managed and family-run businesses, introducing governance and performance frameworks to support long-term growth.

Focus on supply chain resilience and manufacturing performance

As COO, Midgley’s initial priorities at Boniplas will include executing an operations strategy aligned with the company’s growth plans, strengthening supply chain resilience, enhancing manufacturing performance and product quality, and optimising logistics and distribution.

The role also includes responsibility for developing operational KPIs, systems and processes to support data-driven decision making, alongside building high-performing teams and improving cross-functional collaboration.

Midgley will also support new product development, ERP evolution and future distribution expansion.
