Long-established businesses across the building materials supply chain have been recognised at the 2026 Top 100 awards hosted by the Builders Merchants Federation and Builders’ Merchants News.
Held at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, the annual industry event celebrated builders merchants, suppliers and manufacturers that have traded for more than 50 years and continue to play a major role in the UK construction sector.
The gala dinner also raised £9,500 for the BMF’s charity partners, The Educational Frontier Trust and Maddie Rose Foundation.
Top 100 awards shift focus to long-standing construction businesses
For the first time, the 2026 awards recognised companies rather than individuals, with 50 builders merchant businesses and 50 supplier, manufacturer and service companies included in the Top 100 list.
Organisers said the event highlighted the long-term contribution these firms have made to the construction supply chain, local communities and workforce development through training and apprenticeship programmes.
The event was headline sponsored by NMBS, with additional support from companies across the construction and building products sector including Bradfords Building Supplies, Cemex, Huws Gray, JCB, Selco Builders Warehouse and Travis Perkins.
John Newcomb, Chief Executive of the Builders Merchants Federation, said the awards recognised businesses that had made a lasting contribution to the industry over several decades.
He said: “Our congratulations to the Top 100 companies that have contributed a great deal to our sector and the communities they serve, for more than 50 years.
“This recognition is much deserved, and it is fitting that we highlight the work of these businesses as our partner in this event, Builders Merchants News, celebrates its 50th anniversary.”
